About Our Dogs

ABCA Registered Working Border Collies

Our dogs are family. They live their days and nights with us, not cooped up in a kennel or yard. In addition to the relationships that our dogs have with our family members, we believe it is in the best interest of our dogs to have a "job" and a working relationship with livestock.

Our dogs are trained on livestock, and they contact livestock daily. We are not high-volume breeders, and we do not strive to be. We are proud of the dispositions and working abilities of our dogs, and we want for others to experience the same intellect, companionship, and working benefit they bring. Our dogs are all registered with the American Border Collie Association.

Tula

Tula is the queen bee, and the keeper of the office at Snyder & Counts Feed. There is rarely a time that you will run into Frank without Tula by his side.

Tula is curious and intense. She excels in big, fast work, and she's the muscle of our group. She is confident and can competently "catch" and hold stock without being too aggressive. Tula's mission in life is work, and she looks for it wherever she goes!

Tula was bred by Meghan Lally of Ladder Ranch in Savory, WY.

Molly

Molly is a lot of heart in a tiny package. Known as the "good dog" around our place, it is Molly's mission in life to please. She is a quiet, willing dog and she is highly skilled at being in the right place at the right time.

Molly is sensitive, patient, and thoughtful with livestock. She takes direction well and she is especially skilled at quietly directing small groups of stock. Open the gate, send her out, and she'll put them right where they should be. She's also highly maternal.

Molly is a full sister to Tula, two years her junior. Molly was bred Ea'mon O'Toole of Ladder Ranch.

Jim

Where do we start about Jim? You cannot ask for a better disposition in a dog. He is a sweet-spirited, smart dog, who watches livestock calmly & intently. Jim will have full livestock exposure in 2024. He is currently learning manners, patience, and control. He has been invited to work in some highly controlled settings with great success. We have high hopes for Jim and his future pups. We believe he complements Molly and Tula perfectly.

Jim was raised by Colton and Emma Mikkelson from Dolores, CO. @MuttonButTrouble

Check out Jim's paternal grandsire, Llangwm Bud, owned by Aled Owen of Wales - 2022 World Sheepdog Trial Reserve Champion & 2023 World Qualifier.
